When it comes to learning BJJ skills for kids, a question may arise in mind about how old my child should be, to start training BJJ skills? Some of the children may start learning these skills at the age of four. But I would personally prefer that you should make your child learn about BJJ skills when he/she is six years old or when they reach their first grade. Every child should learn defensive techniques of jiu-jitsu, especially for self-defense if they come through any physical conflict. Self-defense is the discipline which a child learns in jiu-jitsu. Along with that one of the common reasons parents are enrolling their kids in BJJ is self-defense. In most countries, you may have noticed that bullying is common in schools and colleges. The other aspect to get focused on is that bullies do not attack a person who is trained in jiu-jitsu, they catch the easier prey. So the basic technique of self-defense taught in BJJ, helps a child not to become the victim of bullying.
Besides that, BJJ also helps your child to get more socialized. A child meets new friends and tends to share his/her common interest and practices various techniques taught in BJJ. your kid also starts interacting with new people, and his communication skills also get improved when they interact with the instructor or his/her gym coach. Your child will start growing, with new friends and with learning new skills. It’s also important for a child to get socialized because it is important for their mental health as well.
The other main aspect that your child can improve by practicing BJJ skills is their focus on discipline as kids can become more polite and humble. Along with that, they may also learn how to have control over their aggression. So, if you want your child to have control over their emotions, why not make them learn BJJ from today?

So, it’s obvious that they will remain physically stronger and healthier. If a child has been deprived of sleeping, that can get improved if they start practicing BJJ. Other than that, if a child has an unhealthy eating habit that can also get fixed through a jiu-jitsu.
